Tuesday 4 November 2025 Grange Academy Farm has Generous Pumpkin Donations from the Community Grange Community Farm, part of Grange Academy, would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Bedford and Kempston community for their generous donations of pumpkins this season. Following a request shared on Facebook by Andrea Foster, who runs the farm and is the Animal Care Subject Lead at Grange Academy, the farm received a wonderful number of pumpkins, providing a nutritious and exciting seasonal treat for its beloved animals.

The event brought together pupils from across the Bedford Inclusive Learning and Training Trust (BILTT), giving them the opportunity to enjoy new, enriching experiences that many may not have access to outside of school.

Tuesday 20 May 2025 New Youth Club Offers Social Lifeline for Children and Young People with Special Educational Needs Grange Academy, in partnership with Conscious Fitness, is launching All Stars Youth Club – a unique and inclusive space where children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) can be themselves. Launching on Tuesday, 3rd June, All Stars Youth Club is designed to support young people aged 7 to 16 with a range of needs including Autism, ADHD, Down Syndrome, anxiety, low self-esteem, and more. The club will run every Tuesday from 4:30 to 5:30pm at Grange Academy. Developed by Grange Academy and Laura Charnock, an experienced educator and parent of a child with Asperger’s, the club offers a safe, welcoming, and interactive environment. It provides an opportunity for young people to connect, build friendships, and enjoy themselves in a space where academic pressure is left at the door.

Monday 16 December 2024 Grange Academy Celebrates Prestigious Artsmark Gold Award from Arts Council England Pupils and staff at Grange Academy are thrilled to announce they have been awarded the prestigious Artsmark Gold Award. Artsmark is the only creative quality standard for schools, accredited by Arts Council England. It recognises schools' dedication to embedding a broad and ambitious curriculum that prioritises arts, culture, and creativity. Awarded schools are proven to experience improved pupil outcomes and well-being. To achieve the Gold Award, Grange Academy significantly developed its arts and cultural provision. This involved creating a comprehensive plan that received school-wide commitment and implementation. Grange received invaluable professional support through an immersive learning programme from Artsmark's delivery partner, Goldsmiths, University of London. Renowned for their expertise in creative pedagogy and cultural placemaking, Goldsmiths provided essential guidance throughout Grange Academy's Artsmark journey.

Tuesday 10 December 2024 St. John’s School Celebrates Sporting Success at the Borough Sports Awards St. John's School is thrilled to announce the outstanding achievements of its Boccia team at the recent Bedford Borough Sports Awards. In October, the school's Boccia team made a triumphant return to inter-school competitions after a Covid-enforced hiatus. The team, composed of five talented pupils, showcased exceptional teamwork and sportsmanship, securing victory in their category and outperforming several mainstream schools.

Monday 18 November 2024 Dunbia Foundation Donates £500 Towards St John’s School for Hydrotherapy Pool Repairs St John’s School in Kempston is delighted to announce a generous donation of £500 from the Dunbia Foundation to support essential repairs to its hydrotherapy pool. The contribution follows a visit by representatives of Dunbia Cardington, who were deeply moved by the school’s commitment to educating and supporting pupils aged 2 to 19 with severe and profound learning difficulties. The hydrotherapy pool is a vital resource for the school, providing therapeutic benefits that many pupils rely on, but it is currently unusable due to the need for repairs. During their visit, Dunbia team members Amy, Erin, and Hoa had the opportunity to meet pupils and staff, join a reading session of Grumpy Monkey, and admire the impressive artwork created by the pupils. The visit left a lasting impression, with the Dunbia team praising the school’s vibrant and supportive environment.

Thursday 24 October 2024 St. John's School Pupils Shine at Boccia Festival: Perfect Eight Wins Secures 1st Place In a thrilling display of skill and teamwork, two local teams from St. John's School recently participated in the Boccia Festival held on Tuesday 22nd October 2024 at John Bunyan Sports & Fitness as part of the Bedfordshire School Games. Both teams excelled in the tournament, but one emerged victorious, winning all eight of their matches and securing 1st place.
