Grange Academy Community Farm Thanks Community for Pumpkin  Donations

Grange Community Farm, part of Grange Academy, would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Bedford and Kempston community for their generous donations of pumpkins this season. Following a request shared on Facebook by Andrea Foster, who runs the farm and is the Animal Care Subject Lead at Grange Academy, the farm received a wonderful number of pumpkins, providing a nutritious and exciting seasonal treat for its beloved animals.

"Pumpkins are packed with nutrients and offer a range of health benefits for our animals. Our pigs, goats, and other animals absolutely love them – it’s a real seasonal treat," said Andrea Foster. The animals’ excitement was evident as they enjoyed their pumpkin feast, bringing energy and joy to the farmyard.

Grange Community Farm is home to an adored group of animals, including Kune Kune pigs, Guernsey goats, sheep, chickens, and rabbits. The farm offers pupils a unique opportunity to care for and connect with these animals, helping them earn animal care qualifications to support their future careers. This hands-on experience creates a calming, interactive environment where pupils form meaningful connections with the animals.

Rachel Timms, Headteacher of Grange Academy, expressed her gratitude for the community’s support and Andrea’s efforts: “We’re incredibly grateful to Andrea for her dedication to our farm and to the Bedford and Kempston community for their generosity. Their support makes a real difference to our pupils and the farm.”

Andrea Foster and the Grange Academy team are deeply grateful to everyone who donated pumpkins or helped with deliveries to the farm. This generous support has not only benefited the animals but has also strengthened the community spirit that Grange Academy holds dear.

The farm welcomes additional support from local businesses interested in contributing to its continued success. Whether through donations, supplies, or other resources, any contributions are greatly appreciated and will make a lasting impact on both our pupils and animals.

Thank you, Bedford and Kempston, for your kindness and generosity in supporting Grange Community Farm. Together, we are creating a nurturing space where animals and pupils alike can flourish.
