Trust Board

BILTT’s Trustees are a dedicated group of experienced professionals who share a strong belief in the power of education and a commitment to improving life chances for all pupils across our Trust.

The Trust Board holds overall responsibility for BILTT’s strategic direction, financial oversight, and the effective operation of each academy. Trustees set policy, monitor performance, and ensure robust quality assurance, supported by a small number of subcommittees as outlined in our governance structure.

Our governance model recognises:

  • The Trust Board’s overarching accountability
  • The CEO’s role in leading and line managing Headteachers
  • The vital contribution of Local Governing Bodies (LGBs) in providing support and challenge at school level

Accountability for educational outcomes and financial integrity rests with the Trustees and the CEO as Accounting Officer. We believe governance is most effective when decisions are made close to the point of impact, which is why key responsibilities are delegated to LGBs through our scheme of delegation.
