Bedford Inclusive Learning and Training Trust

Welcome

We are delighted to welcome you to the Bedford Inclusive Learning and Training Trust (BILTT) website.

CEO’s Welcome

Welcome to BILTT!

Bedford Inclusive Learning and Training Trust (BILTT) was founded in 2013, beginning with St. Johns and Greys Education Centre, and expanded with Grange Academy in 2017. In February 2025, we proudly opened Rivertree Free School, marking a significant milestone in our mission to provide exceptional educational experiences for young people.

Our Trust is dedicated to supporting pupils with a wide range of cognitive and physical challenges, including moderate learning difficulties, autism, and social and emotional health issues. We also provide a nurturing environment for pupils who are temporarily unable to attend mainstream schools due to exclusion or health concerns.

At BILTT, our schools are united by a common purpose: to create safe, supportive, and purposeful spaces where pupils can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. We emphasise collaboration with families, external agencies, and local organisations to ensure every pupil reaches their full potential. Our schools, based in Bedford, benefit from strong partnerships, shared practices, and a unified approach to delivering an inclusive and high-quality curriculum.

Our vision is to build a high-performing SEND Multi Academy Trust that offers outstanding education to all pupils, regardless of their starting points. The Trust Board is committed to continually raising standards, fostering innovation, and making a lasting, positive impact on the lives of all our young people.

The vibrancy of our Trust is reflected in the diverse and dynamic websites of our schools, where you can explore our values, goals, and educational offerings in more detail.

We invite you to explore our website, and if you have any questions or would like more information, please don’t hesitate to contact us. Your interest and engagement are essential as we continue to grow and strive for excellence in SEND education.

Thank you for being a part of our journey!

Chair of Trustees' Welcome

On behalf of the Trust Board of BILTT, it is with great pleasure that I welcome you to our new website. I hope that it provides you with a comprehensive introduction to our values, expectations, and ways of working.

We have a strong group of Trustees and Members that focus on the strategic development of the Trust to ensure excellent quality of education, leadership and management across all our schools. We are focused on inspirational opportunities for all pupils. Our local governing bodies work hard to critically challenge and support the leadership of our schools to ensure that pupils receive only the very best education in all our settings.

We endeavour to continually improve the teaching and learning we offer in our schools. We actively encourage all our parents and carers to join in partnership with us to maximise the benefits that education can bring to their children.

At BILTT we offer so much more than the curriculum; the personal development opportunities for our pupils presents an extensive range of stimulating experiences to ensure that every pupil has access to an exciting and inspirational education. Safeguarding remains a continuous priority at BILTT, as does the wellbeing of all pupils and staff. We are committed to ensuring that our pupils know how to keep themselves safe and healthy.

Whilst each of our schools has its own individual character, our schools are united by common BILTT values and a commitment to high quality education for all pupils regardless of their starting points. The Trust is there to support, to foster collaboration, to share best practice and to facilitate the best use of resources.

We believe that people are our greatest asset and support the continued professional development of all our staff throughout the Trust.

As Chair of BILLT I look forward to the next phase in our journey.
